Herne Bay’s firefighters are offering basic life support training today (Tuesday 10th October 2017) in support of the national ‘Restart a Heart’ campaign.
In the UK, less than one in ten people survive a cardiac arrest (when the heart stops or has a dangerous rhythm) and the campaign aims to increase survival rates.
A number of fire stations across Kent are taking part in the campaign including Herne Bay.
The 30-minute sessions include basic life-support training and CPR, as well as a myth-busting session about defibrillators.
If you want to take part and give yourself the knowledge that could help save a life, the drop in sessions at Herne Bay Fire Station in the High Street take place at 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, 14:00, 15:00 & 16:00.
